Complete Skin Specialists provides both medical and cosmetic services to a large client base that extends from the North-Western Suburbs of Melbourne to the Victorian border. A partnership of two of Australia’s leading dermatologists this practice has over twenty years built a strong reputation for its medical expertise and cosmetic capability.
While already a very successful business, CSS is expanding its footprint to meet the demand for its services. There is now a clear focus on future growth and it is time to engage a business leader who can steer the practice through the next phase of its development while allowing the partners to focus on service delivery.
With 18 staff and plans to grow further, the partners are seeking a leader who displays equally strong people leadership and clear commercial acumen. Critical to this role will be bringing ideas to life by developing the growth strategy, planning for successful execution and ensuring staff understand the What, How and Why of the business activities. Most important is that patients and clients continue to benefit from the quality of service and outcomes that our reputation is built on.
Key to your success will be a willingness to appropriately delegate tasks to those who can provide support so that you can remain focused on your key priorities. You will be directly supported by an Operations Manager and a part-time Marketing /Social Media manager. Working well with the leaders of the different areas of the practice (Nursing / Cosmetic / Reception) will also be critically important.
Qualities we are looking for in the successful candidate include; experience in a customer facing business, a history of leading teams to deliver new initiatives, the ability to motivate and work effectively with your team, a desire to work with people in a way that ensures both parties are satisfied with the interaction and a demonstrable history of growing a business. Tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.
Winning this role does not depend on having a strong medical background. Candidates who have a commercial, HR, retail or SME experience will be considered . The successful candidate will have demonstrated their ability to manage others while also growing a business.
Remuneration for this role will be negotiated based on relevant experience and transferrable skills. You will start on a fixed salary as the business expansion is established and there will be potential for performance based incentives in the future.
The Role Specifics:
The General Manager will take responsibility for the management of the business, allowing the owners to focus on service delivery. You will take the lead on driving the business and setting the structure that will allow the practitioners to focus on delivering medical and cosmetic services to their patients and clients in the most efficient and customer friendly manner possible. The ability to follow through and ensure change is implemented is a critical quality in this role.
Candidates for this role may come from a Medical or Retail background and have a history of stable employment as they build and develop a business. A degree in business, finance, marketing or HR would be highly regarded.
